I’ve been bed ridden for the past 3 days due to some sickness that involves a high fever, continuous coughing and sneezing along with an uncontrollable surplus of malaise (though, this may just be my normal laziness. Not really sure.) It hit me like a ton of bricks on Thursday night around 10. I’m just now starting to feel normal, but the coughing persists.

I spent most of Friday in bed. Between 3 hour naps I would check the laptop for email and new posts on the blogs I follow. This started at 9am. By 3 I was getting irate. There was nothing. No new email, only a couple boring posts from the ever present bloggers of the world. I started to resort to Digg and Fark for late breaking entertainment. By 9 that night, I was almost livid. I felt that someone had corked my already narrow information super highway. What was a light stream had been reduced to a trickle. Like a little kid whose parents had just spent the whole day reading every book in the room to a little brat, I just kept screaming for more. A day without work, where I was stuck inside, where the only distraction was my sickness, my attention drifted towards the latest niche content the internet had.

It’s sad to think when I have nothing to do and lack the energy to act on my creative urges that I become that whiney little kid, but the world is supplying my stories, and never at a pace fast enough for my eager little mind.

On Saturday I never touched the internet. I never even touched my precious MacBook. Instead I spent the day watching old movies. I got more rest and was less stressed than the day before. I think that if I relaxed more and didn’t stress about why I wasn’t receiving emails and just watched Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles I would have felt much better.

This is another site based on the Drupal framework. I like how Drupal works once everything is setup, but for creating multi-function multimedia sites, it’s like pulling teeth to get everything setup and functioning properly. The site took about a total of two and a half weeks to go from design and engineering concept to final product. Unfortunately, I have been way too busy with other projects at this time and won’t be able to do any website work for a while. I’m currently booked through February on video and photography jobs.

Last night I was working on some projects when suddenly I had a crazy idea. It’s a potential commercial, I don’t need to describe it in detail. I had a weird notion that I should create a single frame as an abstract. Even though I knew everything I needed was somewhere in the house, finding it all at 2 am was a little tough. I threw this photo together in about an hour.

I really wanted to get a dusty room effect and have the light beam hitting the bat just barely visible, but it didn’t work out the way I had hoped. That’s what reshoots are for.

After snapping this, and finishing everything I was working on, I finally made it to bed by around 4:30.

Today I did another interview. This time with Bill Hangley from WHYY news. I was really tired, having slept very little the night before (I have come to find that very little sleep results in me being quite tired the following day, who would think?). Bill, if you see this post, please send me at least part of the interview. I barely remember what I said. Everything was accurate as far as I can remember. I just want to make sure that I didn’t leave out any details.

Twitter is down, thus meaning another blog post. These may become a regular thing again.

Don’t be fooled though, Bryan Bernas and myself are one in the same. Bryan is my pen name, while Brian is my real name. This is enough to keep my stalkers confused.

Over the ages my website has really just been a storage house for my small personal projects (most of which get delayed due to actual work). So I’ve decided that I need to spruce it up a bit. Really, I’ve been doing some redesigns of other websites and am just getting back into the swing of things. So, I’ll be adding a few more sections to my site in attempt to market myself to the world. I’ll also be revisiting the idea of “Photo a Day”. The main reason I stopped had to do with photo management and linking, so this will be resolved.
